Step-by-step guide for a successful transition
1. Remove and Rinse the Plants
First rinse
Carefully remove the plants from the culture flask and place them in a container with distilled or clean water. Gently rinse the plants to remove excess agar from the roots. Handle the roots carefully to avoid damage.
2. Gently Clean the Roots
Using your fingers, gently remove any remaining agar from the roots. Avoid pulling or damaging the delicate roots and rootlets.
3. First Rinse with Fungicide Solution
Prepare a solution using 4–5 liters of distilled water and 10–15 drops of fungicide. Soak the plants in the solution for approximately 10 minutes.
4. Perform 3 Rinses
1st rinse: Rinse with clean water for 3–4 minutes.
2nd rinse: Rinse again with clean water.
3rd rinse: Give the plants a final rinse with clean water to remove any remaining residue.
5. Remove Excess Water
Place the plants on a clean paper towel and gently pat them dry to remove excess water.
6. Plant in Fresh Substrate
Plant each TC starter in a fresh, well-moistened substrate. Gently position the roots and make sure the plant is securely supported without compacting the substrate too much.
Important
During the entire process, handle the plants gently. TC plants are delicate and need special care while they transition from the laboratory environment to growing conditions.
